I have been going to Chief O shows since the Fall of 1998. I have seen you folks play at Pat O'shea, in North beach and at mission bay. You guys are an excellent cover band and will be missed.
The first Pat O'shea show I saw involved the classic moment of Mike wolfing down a " King Don" before the begining of " Melt with You" with Steve and Paul having to do the lead vocal for the first verse.
The mission bay performance had the best atmosphere for a show as the band could play until sunset with the bay as a backdrop.
I was wondering if there was some tension before the last pat O shea show: the sound check appeared to be frustrating.
The best overall band tune for me was Wishing Well; Mike sings with soul, and everyone else in the band gets to solo. Paul's talent as a lead guitarist also is demonstrated with this tune as well.
The best Mark tune is probably Once in a lifetime-- he plays great on all tunes but this tune stands out since the original bass line was simple and Mark makes it elegant( in a funky way).
Steve and Mike both do a remarkable imitation of the original sound of " Relax, Don't do it"--very impressive.
Also, for all the tunes Ed has helped to keep everyone together. The ability for everyone in Chief to "gel" has probably been the most outstanding quality.
I wish everyone in Chief good luck and appreciate your making the local bar scene a little more fun

I WISH that MY GENERATION would just RELAX and SAVE IT FOR LATER instead of BURNIN' DOWN THE HOUSE of an ELDERLY WOMAN BEHIND THE COUNTER IN A SMALL TOWN. SHE is just a STUPID GIRL, after all, who is stuck with THE JOKER that is NEVER THERE. This DOWNTOWN VENUS wants a BETTER MAN who will show some TENDERNESS. AND SHE WAS ALL MIXED UP about an ALL STAR SEX MACHINE SUPERMAN who constantly tried to GIVE IT AWAY to every HIPPIE CHICK in a LOW RIDER. The WHITE LINES of her WILD, WILD LIFE yielded to the MYSTERIOUS WAYS of a PSHYCHO KILLER that will CRASH an AEROPLANE on FIRE into your BRICK HOUSE and leave you HIGH AND DRY while searching for HIGHER GROUND. SAY IT AIN'T SO, DAMMIT, but it must be the END OF THE WORLD...ALL APOLOGIES to those that have read this far, but I WILL SURVIVE.

In order to limit my favorite songs to a reasonable size, I have chosen to relay solely on those that start with the letter 's'. I hope that after you try baseball for a year, you will "unretire" and win a few more championships.

Very sorry to see the band ride off into the sunset. Have enjoyed the performances, even been talked into dancing a little bit at a couple of them, and had a great time...each time. Hope to be there for the last two!!

So, what's the real reason for the break-up? Was it all the chicks, booze, and drugs? Was there a knockdown fight between the lyricists? Did one of you suddenly become incredibly spritual? Is it the IRS, do you guys owe them millions of dollars? Were all the other guys secretly in love with the vocalist's wife? Did your agent squandor all of your money? Did one of you marry your 13 year-old cousin?
Sad to hear about the break-up (of course you realize beauty of this is that in 10 years you'll be able to have a reunion tour and make millions) although it will at least relieve of the guilt I have from not coming to see you guys more often.
